Gossip Pic: Jay Z To Grace The Cover of "TIME" Magazine
"Put me anywhere on God's green earth I'll triple my worth"
Jay Z once spat those lyrics and boy was he right on point! The 43 year old Brooklyn native graces the cover of "TIME" magazine as "The Most Influential Person In The World".
Check out what "TIME" magazine had to say about Jay and also find out if and where Beyonce appeared on the list when you click that "Read More" button below:
You can read the entire "TIME" magazine article when you go (here).
MY WORD: Personally, I, Heaven Hollywood, am not a big fan of Jay Z, but I am also not a hater. Shawn Corey Carter has probably now cemented himself as the best rapper of all time and his accomplishments must be applauded!
New Music: Redman ft. Doitall & Mr. Cheeks - Hands Up
If you are an avid reader of this site, then you know that I am a true Hip Hop fan. I'm not one of these chicks who just hop on the train of who's the hottest at the moment because that just ain't me. So understand that when I got some new music in my email inbox from Redman, Doitall (from Lords of the Underground) and Mr. Cheeks (from Lost Boyz), I had to take a listen.
The new joint is titled "Hands Up" and uses a sample from Ed O.G. & Da Bulldogs "I Gotta Have It". Only some real Hip Hop heads would know what I'm talking about. However, if you are not familiar, I will school you.
So get ready to check out the new joint as well as the old school joint when you click on that "Read More" button below:
Now, the old school joint below:
So what do you guys think? I'll hold!

Lana Del Rey Takes A Stab At Lady Gaga On Acerbic Diss Track “So Legit”: Listen
Lana Del Rey is known for musing about her daddy issues, but who knew the singer had beef with other artists? An unreleased demo titled “So Legit” has leaked, with the singer dissing Lady Gaga. In the track, she sings: “Stefani you suck / I know you selling 20 million / Wish they could've seen you when we boo'd you off in Williamsburg.” She also quips: “You're looking like a man, you're talking like a baby / How the fuck is your song in a Coke commercial, crazy / You called me the queen of the downtown scene, babe / How the fuck would you go switch it up and then replace me?” Whoa. Bitter much?
The demo is apparently four years old, around the time when Mother Monster made her (huge) break onto the pop scene with The Fame - before Del Rey’s bombastic debut Born To Die was released in 2012. Back in 2009, the two singers were handled by the same manager, Bob Leone, and played gigs together throughout Brooklyn. It seems like Lana, who went by her birth name Lizzy Grant at the time, coveted Gaga’s success as she struggled to find her own.
Diss tracks are supposed to be feisty and controversial, sparking a dialogue between artists (or at least among their fans). In the case of “So Legit,” Lana Del Rey misses the mark. Her unpolished, nails-on-chalkboard, pre-”Video Games” vocals plus the dismal lyrics, in the style of an angsty teenage girl fuming in her diary, compounded by the painfully boring piano melody - well, it all makes for an overall disaster.
It’s a shame: Lana’s an extraordinary lyricist who now has her own international superstardom, but the surfacing of the diss track doesn’t do her any favors. Looks like the diss is on you, Lana.
Listen below.

Partisan Launches American-Made Online Boutique
The Thanksgiving holiday inevitably boils down to a weekend spent overindulging in two traditionally American activities: excessive eating and shopping. While I may be of no help in the food department (although I will be baking this delicious dessert tonight), I can offer you some advice when it comes to shopping. “This Thanksgiving, Partisan opens its virtual doors to fashion conscious shoppers looking to buy authentic American-made style and keep their dollars at home,” – Tristan Gallagher, President and CEO of the new online retailer. Why not indulge in a little R&R this weekend by shopping from the comfort of your own living room and supporting American jobs in the process.
Here is a little excerpt from Partisan’s Thanksgiving Day launch:
- For decades the world has looked to the U.S. for style icons: the cowboy, the hippie, the flapper, the rocker, the boho, the surfer – but this timeless, American-defined style has been increasingly manufactured abroad – and then re-imported back to us to the detriment of our economy. At Partisan we believe American style must be crafted in America. All in one online retailer, we have assembled the most vibrant brands, old and new. These are high quality clothing brands made by local artisans. We want to support the American worker in such a way that we can connect with consumers who are already fashion forward, but who feel forced to buy the hottest styles from brands manufacturing abroad. By supporting the domestic economy, Partisan is an incubator for the next generation of iconic American fashion.
- Partisan's business philosophy is fueled by impeccable American craftsmanship, individuality, and a sense of classic, sexy, cool.Partisan has partnered with both legendary companies like Schott NYC and emerging brands like Rising Sun, a convergence that is seamless. Focused on providing high quality essentials that are entirely manufactured in the United States,Paritsan will feature select designs for both women and men from brands such as Schott NYC, LnA, Monrow, Michael Stars, Bailey44, Carrie Parry and ThreeDots; 'Studio to street' items by Tee's for Tina; as well as denim by Habitual, James Jeans, Rising Sun, THMV, and Rich & Skinny. Many items from these designers will be available online only at Partisan. The Partisan men's store will have exclusive jeans from Rising Sun as well as pants and shirts from Taylor Stitch, Madison Park Collective and Sol Angeles. The spring collection will expand to include Hunter & Moss, Citizen Green and Habitual's new line of jeans for men. Accessories for initial delivery include Blue Claw Co. and American Optical.
As an avid fan of Partisan’s blog (read the interview I did with them here), I cannot wait to check out the online retailer’s launch tomorrow. Take a moment to support American-made fashion this holiday weekend by giving thanks for domestically-made clothing. Sign up at Partisan today and get 10 percent off your first order.
Cyber Monday Deals for American-Made Merch

Now that we have all sufficiently committed carbicide this Thanksgiving, there is no better way to celebrate the weekend’s indulgences than by propping ourselves in front of our laptop screens (conveniently located away from the harsh lighting of dressing room mirrors) to scour Cyber Monday deals. The best thing about today is that almost all of my favorite sites (which have been featured on this site) are offering insane discounts. Stephanie’s Mattifying (and Dewifying!) Compact
The perfect skin finish is such a balancing act. Ultimately, I want certain parts of my face to radiate light and look all dewy, like I just finished a slightly strenuous but not too sweaty yoga class. Others, I need to be so flat and unreflective that it appears that I don’t have oil glands. So far, my attempts to achieve this split facial personality have involved an elaborate layering routine of highlighting products and shine-reducing potions, as well as a never-ending parade of blotting papers throughout the day.
But MAKE cosmetics kind of solved everything with its Custom Finish Effects Matte Dew compact. The concept is simple enough, on one side you have your mattifying gel, the other a moisturizing balm. But the idea of having everything you need in one portable little case is genius. And it works. I swipe a little of the oil combatant over my T-zone and finish off with the dewy stuff along my cheek and brow bones.
The only real downer here is that you’re meant to apply this with your fingers, which means you have to should wash your hands for every touch-up throughout the day. On the upside, MAKE is sold on We See Beauty, a progressive marketplace that passes along a third of online sales to its eponymous non-profit organization, which, according to the website, is “dedicated to incubate and accelerate women-led, worker-owned cooperatives.” In light of that, my touch-up woes kind of seem dumb, huh?
MAKE Custom Finish Effects Matte Dew Compact, $27, available at We See Beauty.
American Apparel’s Bushy Mannequins, the Dark Side of Being a Model Abroad, and the Best of Golden Globes Fashion
The Dress That Launched a Thousand Memes: Black-banded and pillowy soft, Jennifer Lawrence’s Golden Globes dress spawned dozens of imitators. Bedsheets. Duvets. Nothing was safe. But while J.Law may have stolen the show, the rest of the the red carpet A-list still brought their sartorial A…game.
Bobs, Fobs and Man Buns: Beauty trends were running rampant at the Golden Globes — but we had our eyes on one surprisingly sexual one in particular: MAN BUNS. Fingers crossed for a reprise at the Oscars.
Surf Is the Word: The lookbook for Peter Pilotto’s Target collection has arrived, and the looks are bright, graphic, and nearly all under $60. Score.
Much Ado About a Pigeon: Jezebel offered a $10,000 bounty to anyone with access to unretouched photos from Lena Dunham’s Vogue shoot. In spite of the Girls star’s nay-saying, several turned up — and Vogue had a pretty interesting response to the controversy.
American Apparel Calls the Fuzz: The always-controversial retailer installed some mannequins in a NYC location that are wearing transparent undies and rather pelty pubic wigs. File this under must-see-to-believe.
The Not-So-Glamorous Side of Modeling: Meredith Hattam, the graphic designer for the Model Alliance, shares the harsh realities of working as a model in China. For some girls, it can be the modeling version of indentured servitude.
Happy Birthday, Ms. Mossy: We’re offering up some age-appropriate beauty advice for Kate Moss on her 40th birthday — oh, and a ton of naked pics of the supe.

Sure, style bloggers like Susie Bubble and BryanBoy command thousands for advertising deals and sponsored posts — but managing the significant expenses of running a small business is no walk in the park. Find out the hidden price that comes with having a fashion blog.
The End of Appropriation? In response to Chanel’s use of Native American feathered headdresses in its Cowboys-and-Indians-themed M tiers d’Art show in Dallas, Belgian designer Walter Van Beirendonck sent a crystal-clear message down his own runway.
