Demi Lovato Has Already Started Work On Her Next Album, Record Label Pegs 2015 Release Date

demi-lovato

Here’s some great news to brighten your Monday. Demi Lovato has already started work on her fifth studio album! "She's finishing up right now on the last leg of her touring for this year," her manager told Billboard. "Then the plan is for her to go back into the studio and start the next creative process. She's already done some songs, but certainly the majority of it will kick off next year."

I guess this kills those rumors that the pop diva is planning to re-release her current LP with a couple of high-profile duets. Demi has been a particularly successful era for the 22-year-old. It produced three top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 (“Heart Attack”, “Neon Lights” and Cher Lloyd collaboration “Really Don’t Care”) and proved popular around the globe - charting in most major European markets.

"We're really excited,” Disney Music Group present Ken Bunt told the music bible. “We've got a new album coming from her next year. We're not talking about release dates yet. And she's going to continue her world tour throughout next year." It will be interesting to see how Demi’s next era fares in comparison to former Disney divas Selena Gomez and Zendaya, who both have new music due in 2015.

Are you ready for Demi’s next album? Let us know in the comments below.

Iggy Azalea Shows Off Her Killer Curves In A Tiny Swimsuit On The Cover Of ‘Maxim’ Australia

iggy-azalea-maxim-3

Iggy Azalea‘s Instagram is littered with sexy swimwear pics but nothing in that holy social media account compares to the sizzling one-piece she rocks for the November issue of Maxim Australia. The “Black Widow” hitmaker shows off her famous figure in the skimpy, golden outfit and serves serious face. Hell, she even pulls the old finger-in-the-mouth trick!

November is shaping up to be a huge month for the rap diva. She will be busy promoting new M -assisted single “Beg For It” (hopefully her Scandinavian pal will brush up on her live performance skills) and the re-release of her debut LP Reclassified. That album is expected to drop on the same day as Nicki Minaj‘s The Pinkprint (November 24), so expect fireworks. In the meantime, check out Iggy’s stunning magazine cover after the jump.

Taylor Swift’s ’1989′ Is On Track To Sell One Million+ Copies This Week: Find Out How She Made History

taylor-swift-1989-sales

Hats off, Swifties. You go harder for your Queen than any other fanbase! According to sales predictions, Taylor Swift‘s 1989 is on track to sell more than one million copies in its first week of sale - making it the second best-selling album of 2014 after Disney’s chart-conquering Frozen soundtrack. The 24-year-old will also become the first artist in history to have three albums cross the million mark after seven days of release (2010′s Speak Now and 2012′s Red also achieved the feat).

So what’s Tay Tay’s secret? Well, her military-like promo blitz certainly helped. As did the innovative roll-out (live stream announcement, secret sessions and Instagram countdown) and goodies-filled Target deluxe edition. She also said girl, bye to Spotify and had every celebrity she’s ever met promote 1989 on their social channels. All is fair in love and first-week album sales, and the “Shake It Off” diva knows what it takes to get your coins. Well played and game over.

K. Michelle Has A Song About Drake On Her New LP ‘Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart?’

k-michelle-drake

K. Michelle is full of surprises. The R&B diva unveiled her sexy album cover and explained the curious title in a glamorous video but here’s another reason to get excited about AWBAH (or Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart?) It features a song about Drake! The soul siren opened up about the track “Drake Would Love Me” when I interviewed her recently but asked that it be kept under wraps until now.

“The song is about how girls see a photo of Drake or a video and think ‘he would love me if we met’,” K. revealed. She also said that Drizzy has heard the track and gave his seal of approval. The “Love ‘Em All” hitmaker was also invited his co-headlining tour with Lil Wayne when it rolled into Los Angeles recently. The full tracklist of Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart? will hit the interwebs on Monday (November 3).

Are you excited to hear the diva’s ode to Drake? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s Official. Selena Gomez Is Making A Long-Overdue Comeback In November!

selena-gomez-returns

The great Selena Gomez drought of 2014 is almost over! The 22-year-old drove her fans into a frenzy this morning (October 30) by writing two simple words in her Instagram bio: “Next month.” It’s still not clear what exactly is coming in November but it’s a safe bet that her Hollywood Records swan song - a greatest hits collection to fulfill her contract - will be part of the diva’s comeback.

But that’s not all. There are also persistent rumors that Selena has signed on for another television show, which could also be announced soon. And then there are those mysterious pics from a desert location that keep popping up on her Insta. Are they from a fashion shoot or is she giving us a behind-the-scenes glimpse at one of her new projects? Whatever the case may be, the speculation has her social channels humming overtime. That has earned her the number one spot on Billboard’s Social 50 chart - not bad for someone who hasn’t released music in over a year. See her announcement after the jump.

Susan Boyle’s Sixth Album ‘Hope’, North American Tour Announced For October

Susan Boyle Hope album cover

Yes, it’s true - you literally blinked, and Susan Boyle is now onto her sixth album in five years. A follow-up to last year’s holiday offering Home For Christmas, the 53-year-old Scot’s upcoming LP Hope is described as “an incredible album of inspiration[al] songs” that features “breathtaking renditions of Pink Floyd's ‘Wish You Were Here' and Simon & Garfunkel's ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’,” as well as John Lennon‘s “Imagine” and Sarah Mclachlan‘s “Angel.”

Jennifer Lopez And Iggy Azalea’s “Booty” Gets A Country Club Martini Crew Remix: Listen

jlo-iggy-booty

Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea have fans salivating over the prospect of their eye-popping “Booty” video (the preview promises a sophisticated soft-porn extravaganza) but here’s a little something to quench your Jiggy - get it? - thirst while we wait for it to drop. The twerk-inducing floorfiller has now been remixed by the always-awesome Country Club Martini Crew.

The Brazilian DJ (it’s just one dude) has a knack of overhauling pop songs for the dancefloor without destroying the original’s mainstream appeal and he does it again with “Booty”. Diplo‘s thunderous beats remain largely untouched - everything has just been padded out with house-friendly synths. J Lo and Iggy fans will, no doubt, be dropping it low to this version in the very near future. Listen after the jump.

Destiny’s Child Reunites On Michelle Williams’ Gospel Club-Banger “Say Yes”: Listen

That Michelle Williams reign just won’t let up! Fresh from announcing her starring role in the revival of hit musical Jesus Christ Superstar and signing on to host a choir-fixing reality TV show, the gospel great has single-handedly saved popular music by organizing a Destiny’s Child reunion on her latest single “Say Yes”.

Quite possibly the first twerk-inducing song of praise, “Say Yes” is an infectious gospel club-banger starring Michelle with a little help from sisters Beyonce and Kelly Rowland. (You might have heard of them?) This is so much fun. The percussion-filled production is an invitation to the dance floor, those harmonies remain unrivaled and the chorus is a monster. Trust me, “when Jesus say yes nobody can say no!” will be stuck in your head after the first listen.

But that’s not all. Destiny’s Child will reunite in the imminent “Say Yes” video. This will be the first time the three ladies have filmed a music video for their own music since 2005 charity single “Stand Up For Love”. (The trio previously reunited in Beyonce’s “Superpower” visual but Michelle and Kelly didn’t contribute to the song). Check out the booty-shaking club anthem/gospel hymn after the jump.

Will this song finally earn Michelle a solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100? Let us know in the comments below.

Kanye West And Kim Kardashian Open Their Wedding Album: See Their Extravagant Ceremony

If you’ve been online at all in the last 72 hours, chances are you’ve already been bombarded with facts about Kanye West and Kim Kimdashian‘s opulent wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy. If not here’s a quick round-up: they got married at the historic Forte di Belvedere on May 24, the bride wore Givenchy and Beyonce was too busy posting selfies on Instagram to attend. (She won, to be honest.)

A trickle of wedding pics are now starting to surface online and the event looks every bit as bombastic as you would expect from the reality TV star and her rap mogul husband. They were wed against a wall of white flowers and both looked undeniably immaculate in their designer threads. Afterwards, Kim and Kanye posted for cute/corny ‘just married’ pics in matching leather jackets. See more after the jump.

You can catch a bunch of exclusive pics from their wedding album over at E!. Let us know what you think about their ceremony in the comments below.

Azealia Banks’ SoundCloud Has Been Terminated For Copyright Infringement

Azealia Banks stays losing. The perpetually plagued femcee, who is currently in record label limbo after publicly begging Universal to drop her, suffered another blow today when her SoundCloud was shut down due to copyright infringement. “So I got a third copyright infringement on my soundcloud via ‘fuck up the fun’ and they terminated my account,” she tweeted.

The “212″ rap diva then lamented: “All 2million followers, gone.” This is yet another messy episode in the once promising Azealia Banks story. I’m sure her account will be reinstated if she takes the correct measures but if the 22-year-old doesn’t turn things around soon, she will go down in history as the woman who dragged Lily Allen‘s husband for looking like a thumb. Which is a shame because there’s no denying her god-given talent. See her tweet and some memorable responses after the jump.

So I got a third copyright infringement on my soundcloud via “fuck up the fun” and they terminated my account. All 2million followers, gone.

Pharrell’s “Happy” Is Equally Serotonin-Raising As A Club Anthem

Pharrell really is the man of the moment. His forthcoming opus G I R L is perhaps the most anticipated album of 2014, “Happy” remains at number one on iTunes and looks set to replace Katy Perry‘s “Dark Horse” at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in the next couple of weeks. Even his Vivienne Westwood-designed Grammys hat is a phenomenon - attracting a bid of $10,500 since being listed for auction!

Now seems as good a time as any to celebrate Pharrell’s revival with a cute house remix of his Despicable Me 2 smash. The toe-tapper was a massive international hit in 2013 before exploding stateside and many of the house overhauls were commissioned at that time. The best effort (because it captures the cheerful essence of the original) belongs to British DJ Danny Dove. If you feel “like a room without a roof” this is just what you need! Listen to an even perkier version of “Happy” after the jump.

Has this remix made your day even happier? Let us know in the comments below.

Shakira And Usher Returning As Coaches For Season 6 Of ‘The Voice’ In February

Back So Soon?

the voice shakira usher adam levine blake shelton

Okay, we’re starting to get the picture here - Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green can only take so much of either The Voice‘s grueling schedule or the TV overexposure or the combined arrogance of Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, so they now just rotate in their backup coaches every other season in order to take a break. Yes, series fill-ins Usher and Shakira will reportedly return for the singing competition’s sixth season, after initially making their Voice debut during Season 4 last spring.

A new twist that should cheer up those of you lamenting the fact that Season 5 just ended this week: The Voice will be back on the air in two months. Season 6 is set for a two-hour premiere on February 24. No time for separation anxiety here.

The Voice wrapped its fifth season on Tuesday (December 17) night, when Tessanne Chin was declared the winner and Lady Gaga joined Xtina on stage for a rousing collaboration/feud-squashing moment with “Do What U Want.” Chin’s winner’s single “Tumbling Down,” which was written by Ryan Tedder, is currently #26 on iTunes.

Interestingly, neither Christina, Cee Lo, Shakira or Usher have seen one of their team members win the show in its first five seasons. Maybe it really is Adam and Blake’s big heads that keep the others all splitting shifts?

Angel Haze’s Label Moves Up ‘Dirty Gold’ Release Date Following Her Leak

angel haze dirty gold

Angel Haze surprised rap fans Wednesday (December 18) when she posted her full debut album, Dirty Gold, online without the consent of her label. She apparently had some long-simmering frustrations with Island/Republic, and used Twitter to air her grievances before leaking the album. The label soon removed the songs, but her little rebellion achieved its goal: Dirty Gold, originally slated for a March 3 release, is now dropping on December 30.

The rapper made the announcement on Twitter last night, several hours after the incident, and offered up an explanation for her leak. “My labels didn’t think that I would do it, but I did. It’s hard to put at risk everything I’ve spent this year working on but I had to,” she wrote, adding, “My labels have agreed to release Dirty Gold December 30th. UK & US.”

So, she won, her debut album is coming out this year after all. But, now it’s buried on New Year’s Eve Eve, which has to be one of the least productive, least commercially viable days of the year. Congrats?

Head below to see Angel’s tweets.

Frank Ocean Covers ‘The New York Times’ Magazine: His 5 Best Quotes

Frank Ocean NYTimes Magazine Cover

Literal saint/destroyer of all things evil in the world Frank Ocean is on the cover of The New York Times magazine this week in a mesmerizing #longread, doing what Frank Ocean does best: Being a fearless visionary who doesn’t give a shit what anybody thinks about him, including the journalist hired to profile him for The New York Times! And yet, because it’s Frank Ocean, that doesn’t matter, because his dismissal of likability just adds to his charm. (In the case of Chris Brown, conversely, his ham-fisted efforts to be charming just make him more odious!)

Let’s look at a few of his best quotes from the story.

1. Frank Ocean doesn’t care if he’s unlikable, which is probably exactly what makes him so likable.

That s why image is so important, [Ocean] said. That s why you ve got to practice brevity when you do interviews like this. I could try to make myself likable to you so you could write a piece that keeps my image in good standing, because I m still selling this, or I could just say, My art speaks for itself.

2. Frank Ocean isn’t a big fan of music journalism.

Here s what I think about music and journalism: The most important thing is to just press play… All in all, I just don t trust journalists " and I don t think it s a good practice for me to trust journalists.

3. Frank Ocean has always been kind of a badass.

I got kicked out of every school I went to, Ocean said. The last school that kicked me out had a folder of [expletive] that I had done. They sent the folder in a manila envelope to my house.

4. Frank Ocean isn’t a big fan of his contract with his label, Island Def Jam.

“I don t know where to begin… I think ultimately the problem with it was that nobody was ready to act on anything, any of the language [of the contract], except the language to keep me in it.

5. Frank Ocean is incredibly profound.

We re talking about substances , but we forget how intoxicating things that aren t tangible, things that aren t chemical substances, are. You forget about it. I m saying, you know, love. Power. Money, which is power. Freedom. Honesty. Because that explicit truth I was talking about [his open letter on Tumblr] probably had the same effect [on me] as heroin does on some people.

Azealia Banks Vs. Angel Haze Spawns 3 Diss Tracks In 2 Days: Behold The Escher Staircase Of Feuds

azealia banks no problems

We knew Angel Haze‘s ferocious Azealia Banks diss track “On The Edge” wouldn’t be the final salvo in the new feud between the two female rappers, but this is just getting exhausting. Azealia last night (January 3) ever-so-subtly tweeted “I’m bout to rip this bitch’s head off and toss it in the cauldron,” which must’ve been a metaphorical description of Banks’ ensuing diss track “No Problems,” which she dropped today.

Produced by Machinedrum, it’s not nearly as cruel and bloodthirsty as Haze’s “On The Edge.” But it gets the job done. Last word, right? Unfortunately for everyone else on the internet, WRONG. Angel Haze, soon after, released her second attack, a purportedly GarageBand-recorded, unmastered track called “Shut The Fuck Up” that liberally samples 2Pac‘s “Ambitionz Az A Ridah.” Hear the ladies’ two new tracks below and read on to see even more of the Twitter sparring from today, which is just so stupid. But hey, new music!

Azealia Banks - “No Problems”

Angel Haze - “Shut The Fuck Up”

On Thursday, Angel Haze claimed to have recorded “On The Edge” in 20 minutes following the online spat. But Azealia posted a string of tweets claiming it was recorded months ago.

One last comment about this whole angel haze thing…. Take note that there is NO MENTION of todays twitter spat in her diss track…. Lolol

- YUNG RAPUNXEL (@AZEALIABANKS) January 4, 2013

Further proof that you’ve had this WHACK diss track ready FOR MONTHS. #LOSERRRRR - YUNG RAPUNXEL (@AZEALIABANKS) January 4, 2013

So diplo just calls me and tells me she wrote that track months ago and he had nothing to do with it. - YUNG RAPUNXEL (@AZEALIABANKS) January 4, 2013

I made fly art. You made an angry love song. You wrote MONTHS in advance. I wrote in one night. I WIN.

- YUNG RAPUNXEL (@AZEALIABANKS) January 4, 2013

Haze then responded:

I couldn’t even play that weak shit all the way thru, bruh. ANYWAY 6pm. you some trash.

- Young Gypsy (@AngelHaze) January 4, 2013

fuck that, give me thirty minutes. ill record this shit on garage band. not worth studio time.

- Young Gypsy (@AngelHaze) January 4, 2013

Then she dropped said track, and then the online sniping continued unabated, and then the last thing we remember before blacking out was that everything was just sort of enveloped by this loud hissing sound, like steam coming out of a teapot, and a warm feeling rushed over us. Sweet release.

Britney Spears To Get Fired From ‘The X Factor’: Report

X Factor Season 2 britney spears

Breaking news! Stop the presses! Extr-ee, extr-ee, read all about it! According to a new report, Britney Spears is so breathtakingly boring on The X Factor that producers are planning to give the living legend the ol’ heave-ho come 2013, citing her underwhelming performance and sky-high salary as reasons for her unsustainable future. Of course, this comes courtesy of an exclusive story in Us Weekly, so we’ll await an official confirmation before trying too hard to get #Pray4Godney to trend on Twitter.

britney spears: a life in 30 photos

30 Photos »

News that Spears is a snooze on the show won’t shock even her most diehard devotees, and her low-octane delivery hasn’t gone unnoticed by producers who were, perhaps, expecting something a little more on the umbrella-wielding end of the spectrum. “They paid [$15 million] for her to say ‘amazing’ and offer half-claps,” an “insider” told Us Weekly. As for Simon Cowell, another source alleges that he’s eager to see Spears gone: “He wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.” Admittedly, that’s probably how most of America feels too.

Given that The X Factor continues to flounder in the ratings, it may be time to face facts: Spears may remain one of the world’s best pop stars, but she’s not a particularly compelling TV personality. Conversely, Christina Aguilera‘s last album was a colossal flop, but she makes for wickedly dynamic and compulsively watchable television. Do with that what you will.

L.A. Reid Announces Departure From ‘The X Factor,’ Since He Has A Record Label To Run

X Factor Season 2

Sad news for fans of L.A. Reid, the guy at the judges’ table who isn’t Simon Cowell, Britney Spears or Demi Lovato - if you’re out there, hey L.A. Reid’s fans! - the Epic Records chairman and CEO is departing The X Factor after this season so he can go back to running a major record label, which was his job before he became a FOX demi-celebrity.

“Of course I will miss the show,” Reid told The Hollywood Reporter. ”In my opinion Simon attracts the best talent, but I’m looking forward to getting back to my core business and the responsibility of running Epic Records.”

britney & demi are all smiles at 'x factor' launch: see the pics

11 Photos »

As Billboard notes, though (via Popjustice), virtually all of the talent produced by The X Factor (released by Epic Records under Reid’s guidance) has underperformed (which is an “industry term” that basically means “flopped”) commercially. So there’s that.

The good news: Reid says that his next priorities at Epic will be promoting Ciara and Avril Lavigne, which means music is basically saved.
