Jennifer Hudson hit the red carpet at the 2014 Fulfillment Fund Stars Benefit Gala at The Beverly Hilton hotel on Tuesday evening in Beverly Hills. She was joined on the red carpet by James Marsden, Michelle Monaghan, Kathy Griffin, and Teri Hatcher.
The 33-year-old recording artist, actress, and spokesperson sported a Barbara Bui top and a leather miniskirt. She completed the outfit with fishnet tights and leather over-the-knee boots by Gianvito Rossi.

We love these suede ankle boots! See more styles we’re feelin’ for fall, over on Glamour.com.
This month, we seek the refuge of thick outerwear, oversized coats and cozy jackets to keep the chill at bay. More often than not, we see people who do it in style. It's definitely the season to take advantage of the wealth of striking jackets, coats and capes to amplify one's ensemble.
We've been spying on the blogosphere and here are the outfits that won our hearts over:

We've always recommended a dose of color to cure a serious monochrome malaise. Something like a neon coat would do well in giving a look that extra ounce of cuteness. Megan did just that with her Forever 21 swing coat. Her cheery yellow coat provided a sharp but eye-catching contrast to her two-tone shirtdress.

There's something about basic pieces that draw us. Simple looks like the knitted sweater and pinstripe pants outfit Martyna wore looks very chic, especially when worn with a grey coat just like what she had here. Such a look can never get old.

Treasure a good leather jacket for it will serve you well in the fashion department. It's a quick add-on to ensembles you need not think through. It just blends in well no matter what your style is. Take a cue from San Francisco-based blogger, Kathleen, who rocked her sleek brown leather jacket to perfection.

Every month, we find ourselves including printed coats, especially those with big houndstooth prints. They are great to wear when you are looking for just a touch of quirkiness to an outfit. We are particularly smitten with Anetka's coat, which she wore with a pink cable-knitted sweater, a pair of pants and a pair of booties.

Bundled up in one of the most interesting coats we have seen in a while is Pierluigi. Need we say more about his zipped up coat and its interesting lapel detail? His photo speaks for itself.
Stay tuned for the second half of our post. More of your favorite bloggers will be featured!

You are reading the second part of our favorite jacket looks for the month of December. If you haven't read the first part yet, backtrack to our first post and see which bloggers had some of the most enviable outerwear pieces.
Let's not dawdle any longer. Here's the rest of the fashionable bunch:

As much as one likes to dress up in the dead of winter, one just can't muster the creativity and energy when the temperature drops below zero degrees! In that case, you need something easy and breezy to keep you in your style game. Here's an inspiring look from Tini Tani. Can someone put that jacket in our closets, please?

We can't help but love pastel-colored coats. They're just an instant pick-me-upper! Estefania's mint green coat had us dreaming of spring but without killing our winter vibe.

Fan of capes? So are we. What's not to love? It can be worn with a sweater for instant glam. We are gushing over Miha's look. All the right pieces tied together by one chic black cape? Winter inspiration right there!

We aren't ever growing out of our love for plaid coats. They always come handy in the fashion department. After all, nothing like a little preppy touch to give an outfit more statement! Check out Attalia's blue plaid coat. Our minds are already abuzz with ways to style this!

How does one make denim jackets look great this season? We suggest Laura's fuss-free streetstyle outfit. The slouchy denim jacket has been styled to perfection. Laura rolled the sleeves up to reveal a cozy sweater. She wore this with a pair of shorts and a shirt tied around her waist but the shorts can just as easily be replaced with a pair of pants.
That's how we send off 2013! It's been a great year but we can't wait to get started in spying more amazing jacket looks this year.

Shoes of the day: Chic black booties
Aside from leather moto jackets, there's another way to channel a more masculine and tougher vibe in your outfits: go the army route! Yes, hunter green parka jackets and camouflage prints are making a comeback.
If you remember, they were pretty big a few seasons ago, but the interest on army style dissipated. Lately, however, it looks like the fashion industry has renewed its fascination with military-inspired outerwear, so they're back in full force!
We are totally getting inspiration from the following fashion bloggers who are also smitten with the military trend:

It's easy to love Karla's ingenious play on the army trend. You can tell she took inspiration from it, but her look is not overly masculine. She paired her jacket with earth-tone pieces to keep the look cohesive but threw in a hat for that extra edgy look.

Aika managed to make the camo jacket look chic by wearing it with denim shorts and a layered top. It also takes good accessories to make this look work. Aika threw in a pop of red with her bag and a little Perspex with her pair of shoes.

I suspect Flavia can wear a flour sack and make it look stylish. She looks polished from head to toe in an army-style jacket and a leather ensemble.

Marilyn layered a floral dress over a denim one, and then capped off the look with an army-style jacket! Very clever. It works, too! It's a wonderful summer style to covet if you are feeling a tad adventurous.

Army jackets too warm for the summer? Try army vests like what Meri is wearing in this photo. She definitely had spunky and grungy in mind when she came up with this outfit as there are a lot of tough elements in it. Pile on accessories like statement necklaces and bracelets for a more street-style vibe to your army-inspired ensemble.
Inspired by these bloggers? You, too, can rock the army trend. Here are some pieces to snap up:
