Hip Hop Mount Rushmore

The good folks over at Rocawear have a contest for you that I thought was absolutely hot and totally Hip Hop. An artist by the name of Demont Peekaso has created a painting titled the modern day "Hip Hop Rushmore". The painting features three of today's legends in Hip Hop such as Tupac, Jay Z and Biggie. However, a fourth person is going to be added, but Demont Peekaso needs your help. He needs help in choosing who that fourth Hip Hop legend will be. So check out the choices Rocawear is giving you below:

Eminem, Ice Cube, Nas, Kanye West, Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap, KRS-One and Lil Wayne.

My only gripe is what happened to Big Pun as an option?! Did no one feel like he was worthy of being a legend? Why wasn't he on the list of choices? Oh well! That's just my opinion. Anywho, if your pick is chosen then you have a chance of winning the masterpiece for yourself!

So enter for your chance to win the grand prize as well as check out Demont Peekaso doing the actual artwork for the painting when you click on the "Read More" button below:

You can enter to vote and win the contest by clicking (here). By the way, who do you think should be the fourth Hip Hop legend? I'm listening!

HHGS Artist Spotlight: M.C. El Bee - Straight Outta Hip Hop

The legendary M.C. El Bee is one of the "Invisible Legends of Hip Hop", a true Hip Hop demigod from the GrandMaster Flash and Kool Herk era (Bronx 1974). Before there was such a thing called a Hip Hop record deal, there were street MC's and B-Boys that rocked the crowds, drove the people crazy with tight moves and slick rhymes

These were the live performances within the clubs and park jams back then, before the world knew rappers like Kool Moe D, Sugar Hill Gang and Kurtis Blow. Street MC's were the voice of Hip Hop!!!

The legendary M.C. El Bee is back to bring old school stories over new school beats. His style of MC'n is both competitive as well as historical. He comes across as a triple threat with his ability to rap, sing and write his own material. To fully comprehend his style you must see his new video which is a remake of N.W.A.'s 1988 "Straight Outta Compton" which was produced by Dr. Dre.

M.C. El Bee's version is titled "Straight Outta Hip Hop" which features John Body Bagz from Albany N.Y. (who reps his upstate hood while M.C. El Bee reps the Bronx N.Y.) So get ready to check out the video for yourselves when you click on that "Read More" button below:
